Avi Oster Highlights Social Inequality
A star-studded evening in New York’s Carlton Hotel was recently hosted by philanthropist and real estate developer Avi Oster in order to illuminate the problems faced by the country’s inner-city youth. Entitled 360 Induced, the evening event was also headlined by award-winning hip hop icon Ne-Yo and British R&B sensation Estelle. The All of Me Foundation, Estelle’s charity addressing inner-city issues, was the focus of the night.
Oster, who comes from a prolifically philanthropic family, serves on the board of directors for All of Me, and is sobered to the everyday challenges posed by poverty and a poor educational system. By bringing so much talent into one room, he shows an understanding the importance of putting thinking minds together in order to influence change. Children’s Aid Society CEO Richard R. Buery, Jr. credited All of Me for, “helping to produce responsible citizens that give back to their communities.”
The evening also featured musical performances by both Ne-Yo and Estelle, and heavily featured tracks from Ne-Yo’s latest album, Libra Scale. Oster and Ne-Yo were collaborating for the first time on the event, but expressed optimism that by bringing the right people together, important conversations could be had and positive movements and projects could be set in motion as a result.
Estelle also happened to be celebrating her 31st birthday that evening, and was treated to a serenade performance by her friend Ne-Yo. The diversity of the audience was hardly felt as electrifying musical performances unified the room’s energy. Frank Miller of Launch Media group expressed palpable excitement in saying, “I can’t wait to see what the results [of this event] will be.”
